Since 2013, Kibet4Kids has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Kenyan children, in areas where it matters most. Hundreds of children are enrolled at the free-of-charge public primary schools that are built and supported by Kibet4Kids. All our schools provide quality education in impoverished areas. They are owned by the community, and the staff are being paid by the Kenyan government.

Kibet4Kids has no overhead costs (other than the unavoidable bank costs). Everyone who works for Kibet4Kids does that as a volunteer – apart from the Kenyan workers who build our schools. In other words, our donations are fully used to help where it matters most.

This is the first classroom that was built by Kibet4Kids and that was officially opened in February 2014.

Since then, Kibet4Kids built 5 classrooms for Kolol and filled them with good quality desks and chairs. We also supplied bookshelves and lots of educational materials, such as text books and story books. We built an administration block for the teachers, and equipped it with desks, chairs, a computer and a printer. As a way of improving the quality of education, several teachers were offered additional courses and workshops, while one was supported to get her Bachelor’s degree.

Other things that were done at Kolol: we built a sanitary block (with toilets and hand wash basins), we made a drainage system and supplied a large water tank, we put up a perimeter fence around the school compound, provided extra beans and maize for lunch and constructed a new kitchen.

We were able to do all this thanks to our donors and with support from several Dutch organisations such as Wilde Ganzen (Wild Geese) and Edukans.
