RobVeer.Com supports Kibet4Kids
Marathonrunner Hugo van den Broek visited the Netherlands for some weeks. He ran two races and completed a succesful trainingcamp in Bad Durheim (Germany), together with his colleagues from the Dutch team Koen Raymaekers and Olfert Molenhuis. On wednesday July 2 he returned to Kenya, where he will continue his preparation for the European Championships in Zurich. Before departure, he received a cheque of more than 1100 euro from coach Rob Veer.
Veer: “This contribution is for Kibet4Kids, a foundation that was founded by Hugo and his partner Hilda Kibet. I coach runners and tri-athletes through internet. Some of them donate 1 euro for every personal best they get into a PB-pot. On top of every euro, I donate another 0,50 euro through my company RobVeer.com. Lately my athletes performed very well, so the amount in the PB-pot increased to more than 1000 euro. Since I started being an online-coach, I support projects in Africa, first in Malawi, later in Kenya. From now on I will do that through Kibet4Kids, so that I'm sure every single euro is used the way I want: to improve education in the rural parts of Kenya.
Van den Broek: “We are very happy with this contribution. Kibet4Kids can do good jobs with this amount. Most of it will be used to finish the library of Kessup primary school. This school was supported by RobVeer.com in previous years and we want to complete that project. I already spoke with the contractor and we will start working this month. The rest of the money will be used for our project in Kolol, which is a school in an impoverished rural village, where we build classrooms, buy books and offer the teachers workshops.”
This will be a longterm cooperation; the proceeds of the PB-pot will be donated to Kibet4Kids for the next three years.
